Strange love.

Why/How do we fall for strangers?
People we know nothing about, barely talk to and probably only connect with through a look across a room.
What is it about another person, you haven't had the chance to discover, that is so extremely attractive.
I suppose this has remained an unanswered, or unsatisfactorily answered question for the longest time. But, I'm asking again. I know people have speculated with many theories about vibes and such... honestly, I don't understand all of that. I get it, vaguely. Just don't 'understand' it! (Yes, there IS a difference.)
And, what do you do about it when every thought you have is about what this person is really like to hang out with or spend time with, what this person really likes, what you'd have to do to get this person considerably angry, would they be the first to try and resolve a fight?. But of course you're too afraid to bare all, and wear your heart on your sleeve and tell them you want to get to know them better, because that would mean risking downright rejection or worse- total embarrassment! Even harder to handle if this person exists in your life only in a working or studying environment.
Society doesn't help with its (sometimes) close-minded, highly judgmental and conclusive nature.
For instance, the campus my college is located in doesn't even allow a mixed group of girls and guys to sit and enjoy a break in the campus canteen without creating some kind of objecting stand which involves the likes of confiscating ID cards and (go figure!) cell phones!?  I don't know what exactly their problem is. Maybe just the fact that they don't know any women who want to chill with them! Poor guys. Boo hoo.
But, society and it's weird ways (that can sometimes, as much as I try to avoid it, anger the hell out of me) is topic enough for a whole other post.
Getting back to what this was actually about, I'd be very interested to find out how many people I know actually believe in the concept of love at first sight. I'm quite sure I don't.
But, then again, there are other inexplicable feelings at first sight that are in need of definition. Or are we better off they remain undefined? *thoughtful hmmm.*
At least what we do have is the excitement in enjoying things like stolen glances and shy smiles that don't necessarily mean anything or have the possibility of meaning a whole lot more than we even imagine. All that coupled, of course, with the frustration of not knowing anything for certain and hoping that at least the opposite party would be braver than you and moved enough to take a risk.
But that's hoping for a lot. :)

PS- If you happen to be curious family or friends reading this, don't ask questions. It's just thinking in text. Thank you! I love you all!:)

it actually proves the fact that when you like someone or you're attracted to them at the beginning, its mostly about you... its about you imagining what he's like... and probably that makes it worse coz he becomes pretty much a guy you could 'seriously' fall for when actually he's probably pretty different.
(look at me being all smart n all :p)

@Joey: Look at you being oh-so-literal! :)
Who said anyone was supposing anything...
Its about enjoying the 'not knowing'. :) .. like I said, not knowing what the person REALLY is like.. and yet somehow, connecting on some strange inexplicable level..

@N$mash: I don't know how you know that :) but thanks.
